It has been a hot minute since we last heard the pairing of dlüx (formerly Armand Deluxe) and dance/pop mastermind SIRPAUL. Their previous collaboration, "
Digital Love", still makes a powerful impact months after its initial release and their very first offering, "Touch Me", was infectious and memorable enough to be included in my "Top of 2013" list. For the duo's impressive fifth release, the talented artists present "
Sweat", a piece of sultry pop that will surely get body temperatures rising and serves as a fierce "welcome back" for both artists.
Available today on all major music retail outlets, "
Sweat" showcases a slight departure from the pair's past efforts. The tempo is much slower, the beats are more dominant as SIRPAUL sings of spending "one night in heaven", a not-so-subtle reference to a steamy, dirty, hardcore evening in the bedroom. If anyone can get you ready for countless hours of sweating on a dance floor, it is certainly dlüx. As he handles the production reins, SIRPAUL gives yet another seductive, hypnotic performance that breathes life into the dance track.
"
Sweat on your body, got your loving wrapped around me, like the way you take it all, when you're up against the wall," SIRPAUL bluntly sings during the explicitly clever verses of begging for one's love, very reminiscent to the subject matter of "Touch Me". The catchy chorus then rolls around and a 90s vibe encases the listeners as they are transported onto the dance floor and back into the bed of their overnight lover. Hopefully that would either be dlüx or SIRPAUL. A boy can dream right?!
After five releases, one may think the magic would start to slip away, but the two artist prove to just get better over time as "
Sweat" may just as well be their best release since their first. SIRPAUL is the man behind the vocals, controlling and dominant, but make no mistake, the new dance effort carries the signature touch of dlüx. Both unique and explosive, the track features a radio-ready essence and provocative lyrics that will certainly cause people to take notice. Could this be the song that gives the two the mainstream attention they truly deserve? You be the judge.
